Looking up to the heavens.

The entire profile of this tea table was inspired from the Japanese calligraphy character for happiness and joy.
Original brushwork by Aya Itagaki of Fairlee, Vermont.

Aya Itagaki, A native of Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan, came to New Hampshire in 1964 with her family. She now lives in Fairlee, Vermont with her husband Kazu and dog Zack. Aya has been teaching Brush Art and Japanese Language for over 30 years and is a founder of Via Aya, a center for the study of Japanese culture. Founder of Rebecca G. Williams Memorial Fund for the Senior Citizen Art Program. She is also a Co-founder of the AVA Gallery & Art Center in Lebanon N.H.. Ayašs work is featured on our fire place screens, cafe tables, tea table and chair set.
